Okay so a small recap of the past few days. James and I got moved into our apartment in Las Vegas. We then flew back to Nashville so that i could walk in my graduation ceremony. My dad, mom, and Rory all came into town for the graduation as well. We will be leaving Monday in the car with Snots for yet another cross country drive.
But onto today......
Today was finally the day that my M.Ed group has been waiting for. We graduated with our master's degrees. Mom, dad, James and I woke up at the butt crack of dawn....and were on the road to Jackson, TN by 6:15. The four of us were able to go down since Theresa had planned an exciting day with Rory that included a trip to the zoo and a shrimp boil. Once in Jackson they dropped me off at the church where the ceremony was and mom, dad, and James went to Hobby Lobby to waste some time. At least one out the three had a great time. Mary, MaryLynn, and Gina also joined our group for the ceremony. The graduation ceremony was great...short and sweet! 200 graduates were in and out in an hour with our actual degrees in hand. We had dinner at the Spaghetti House and headed home. Now we are all sitting here trying to stay awake past 8 o'clock. The past few weeks have really helped James and I realize how lucky and loved we are!!!

Moving Day 3-Tucumcari, New Mexico to Las Vegas, Nevada
Today turned out to be a GREAT day. We got to see a ton of new places....and we made it all the way to Las Vegas. James drove about 12 hours today so that we could make it all of the way to Las Vegas.
Then just as quickly as the rain came....it was gone and we were back to blue skies. We thought that it was really funny that we didn't get any rain until we hit the area with the more desert like terrain.
The sky looked like it could go on and on forever!
So I had a lot of trouble spelling Albuquerque. So much that I almost wanted to make hour 19 something else!
Right before we got to the Arizona border there was this strange "town" on the side of the road. I would never want to stop in the town but the mountains behind it were awsome. These were the first kind we saw, I though they looked like a post card. The other ones looked almost like swiss cheese!
Welcome to Arizona! It took five million years to get through the state of New Mexico. We were so excited when we finally got to the state line!
A dust tornado out in the distance. This was all the entertainment we had for about 4 hours.
This was the Roadkill Cafe right off of the old Route 66. So we are driving down the road and ahead of us we see rain. This was the kind of rain that you could see the cloud in the sky and then since everything around it was so clear you could actually see the rain falling (even from really far away). When we hit that rain storm HOLY MOLY it was horrible! The rain was coming down in sheets and the wind was blowing so hard.
So at this point in the drive there wasn't any city to say that we were near. As we made our way into the desert a few hours before it got harder to say what we were near so hour 26 and 27 were judged by where they were in location to other places. Kingman is where my dad met my grandpa for the first time a few years back. I am sad to say that he passed away a few years ago and I did not get a chance to meet him.
ONLY 100 MILES TO GO!!
We did not actually cross over the main part of the dam. We went over Route 93 that way we didn't have to go through all of the check points.
Welcome to NEVADA!

This trip has been such an awesome opportunity for James and I! We have had a lot of fun going across the country together. I know that all the fun we've had wouldn't have been possible without the help from some of our best friends that we will miss so much. Jamie and Theresa are watching Snots, taking us in, and providing us with so much support and encouragement! They are the greatest friends anyone or any dog could ask for and we will miss spending our Saturdays with them but will look forward to many visits from them. Well it is 11:30 Las Vegas time and we are checked into our hotel and ready to go to sleep. Tomorrow will be yet another busy day as we are going to sign our lease and get our keys. We are also going to try to get the movers to come a day early so that we can get moved into our new apartment tomorrow! I will post more then!
